The Challenge
General Motors relied on Drago Logistics to develop an international automotive export solution from Mexico that ensured:
- Global transportation of finished units for delivery to commercial sites in the U.S., Korea, and Germany.
- Shipment of prototype vehicles with highly specific logistics requirements for promotional campaigns and brand positioning in Asia and Europe.
- Strict compliance with international regulations, safety documentation, customs clearance, and optimal safeguarding conditions during transit.
The challenge was differentiating logistics handling between prototype vehicles (exclusive, non-commercial use) and assembled vehicles ready for distribution or exhibition.
Our Solution
At Drago Logistics, we designed an integrated and specialized automotive logistics strategy, adapting each operation to the type of vehicle, destination, and required mode of transport.
Domestic Ground Transportation

- Vehicle condition check, specialized packaging, and preparation for shipping
Air Export (Prototypes and Urgent Units)
- Airline bookings with global carriers
- Issuance of safety documentation and specialized labeling

- Expedited delivery to Korea and Germany meeting promotional deadlines
Ocean Export (Finished Units)
- Inland transport to strategic seaports
- Containerized shipping or roll-on/roll-off depending on unit type
- Security labeling, bills of lading, and complete traceability
- Coordination with shipping lines and monitoring until final destination
